3M clear heat shrink tubing equivalent

The clear heat shrink tube shrinks to half of its original size (2:1) and offers an outstanding balance of electrical, physical and chemical properties for a wide variety of applications.



 

Application:

This clear tube rated for 125ºC continuous operation, typically used as a shrink-fit electrical insulation over splices and terminations. It is also used for lightweight wire harness covering, wire marking, wire bundling, component packaging and fire resistant covering. The heat shrink tubing is split resistant, mechanically tough

 

Comparing transparent heat shrinkable tubes with ordinary heat shrinkable tube, excepting the difference in color, the performance is basically similar, the shrink ratio is also the basic 2:1 or 3:1 and 4:1, use heating to shrink. However, to ensure the tube clearance, the flame retardants can’t be added into the material of clear tubes, that’s why most of the clear heat shrink tubing usually are non flame retardant, excepting some special material, such as Kynar, clear Kynar tube is flame retardant.
